An Overview of The Merrion Hotel

The Merrion was skilfully created out of a row of four Georgian townhouses in the heart of Dublin. Located close to the city’s government buildings, they were built in the 1760s and their original owners were wealthy merchants and the nobility. The high ceilings of their interiors and well-proportioned exteriors lend themselves to the needs of a hotel. Some of the original features have been retained, such as the peat fires that still burn in the hotel’s shared spaces. Rooms and suites boast high thread count sheets, Nespresso machines and Carrara marble bathrooms. The hotel also features a spa, steam room, fitness centre and indoor pool.

Why We Love The Merrion Hotel

Ask for a room overlooking the two lovely gardens. These period gardens were laid out by the hugely talented Jim Reynolds and their box hedges, water features and statuary hark back to centuries past. The smaller of the two is known as Lady Mornington’s Garden and is enclosed by the contemporary wing, while many of the guest rooms overlook the larger garden
