An Overview of The Bonham

The result of a successful renovation of three Edinburgh townhouses built in 1872, the Bonham is one of the city’s most beautiful hotels. Over the course of its history, the townhouses have been homes for the wealthy, a private maternity clinic and a hall of residence for the university. It became a hotel in 1998 and its original features, such as wood panelling, intricate cornicing and carved doorframes give it a lot of its charm and character. Another big draw is The Bonham’s location, overlooking tranquil Drumsheugh Gardens and a twenty minute walk from the city’s Old Town and the famous Royal Mile. Many of the rooms have breathtaking views across Edinburgh and the countryside beyond.

Why We Love The Bonham

Dine at No 35 at The Bonham, the hotel’s opulent restaurant. It specialises in modern European cuisine with a Scottish twist, creating imaginative dishes from fresh local ingredients. Try Hebridean smoked salmon or roast borders pheasant with haggis croquettes and turnip purée. Retiring to the bar afterwards for a wee dram of whisky is a given.
