Overlooking the marina and located in the trendy Gothic Quarter, Las Serras occupies one of the most prestigious addresses in Barcelona. The hotel’s terrace is delightful; its cocktail bar, pool and even an olive tree leave you in no doubt that you are on the Med. Boasting both city and maritime views, the hotel interior is a magnificent example of contemporary hotel design. Yet it’s found in a historical treasure of a building dating from 1846 and whose façade was created by the same architect that was responsible for the Plaça Reial. This is a feast for the eyes, but also for the stomach, as the hotel is home to a Michelin starred restaurant specialising in Catalan dishes.
Pablo Picasso had his very first studio in the building when he was just 15 years old. The space, created in 1896, was where he painted Cience and Charity. Perhaps you’ll be inspired to get creative too.
