Clinging to the cliff overlooking the sea, this contemporary property is all about the wow-factor. Grey stone, beautiful natural wood, brass accents and the breathtaking Corten steel spiral staircase at the heart of the hotel create a unique and dramatic backdrop for a memorable stay. Oversized windows work hard at bringing the outside in; the 22 rooms all overlook the water. The hotel is close enough to be able to visit San Sebastian easily, but sufficiently out of town to be able to get away from it all and focus on the now. To help you unwind, there’s also a well-appointed spa which uses Sisley products, boasting a stone pool, marble steam room and sauna.
The main draw is the food. Three Michelin stars’ worth of food, in fact. Before this was a luxury boutique hotel it was a pioneering restaurant and chef Pedro Subijana, who’s been at the helm since 1975, will impress with dishes that are creative, tasty and beautifully presented.
