Bergen, a city guide
Ignore Bergen’s status as Norway’s wettest town and stay long enough to see the sun emerge over one of the country’s most attractive urban centres. The colourful wharves and warehouses of Bryggen on the waterfront are beautiful in any weather, but shelter from the rain in the fascinating Leprosy Museum or at the excellent aquarium.
Mundana has set a high standard and hand picked these restaurants for their great food quality, good reputation, great customer service, clean environment, courteous staff and original menus.
XVI at Opus XVI Hotel
Smart seafood restaurant in the settings of the Edvard Grieg heritage hotel Opus XVI.
Neo-Fjordic cuisine, inventive and delicious - like Nordic, but just that little bit different.
This wharf is crammed with traditional timber houses, some of which float on wooden rafts. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site with plenty of charm.
Funicular to Mount Floyen
Catch the funicular up to the top of Mount Floyen for outstanding views down over Bergen and its harbour. In summer there is free canoe rental at Lake Skomakerdiket, just a ten minute walk from the top station.
